Throughout history, anomalous phenomena have, at certain times, either become more common, or have been noticed more often. In either case, it can be seen as an indication that the cosmic kaleidoscope is turning once more. We are living in such an era.

In this session of the monthly Speaker Series, we will discuss evidence that human beings are changing and that part of the reason for this change is a gradual dissolution of boundaries that have stood for millennia. We suggest that coincidences and synchronistic experiences are indications that we are embedded in a profoundly psychic, intense, dynamically vibrant Web that is richly conscious, multileveled and polysemous. A Web in which separation is seen to be an illusion and consciousness transcends our ordinary understanding of both time and space.

BIO: Richard Petty is a physician, psychiatrist and scientist who holds a master’s degrees in biochemistry, a doctorate in endothelial biology, as well as advanced qualifications in acupuncture and Reiki. He has engaged in fundamental research on the brain – including a Fellowship in Neuroimaging at Johns Hopkins University Medical School – and on the human energy systems, which he has studied around the globe. A student of the work of Carl Jung, he has been a practitioner of meditation and t’ai chi ch’uan for decades, and has taught on every continent – except Antarctica! – on more than 7,000 occasions.
