Earth Coincidence Control Office (E.C.C.O.)

Some coincidences cannot be explained by conventional science or psi.

A coincidence can be defined as a surprising intersection of events that suggests there might be a hidden cause. They stimulate us to explain them.

Among the conventional explanations are statistics, ocular saccades, and coincidence psychodynamics. Statistics help us to understand how one person can win the lottery three times. Saccades help to explain how someone can think of something and then see it. Psychodynamics clarifies how subconscious conflicts contribute to our own creation of coincidences.

Psi (telepathy, clairvoyance and precognition) seem to be the best explanation for some coincidences like thinking of someone and that person surprisingly contacts you. Because there is no currently acceptable theory about how psi works, conventional science does not accept its existence.

Some coincidences are marked by very low odds of happening. These very low probability coincidences would take many human lifetimes to happen. For these coincidences, probability becomes an increasingly weak explanation.

There is no argument against the claim that God-Universe is the final cause of these very low probability coincidences. A final cause is a final cause. We need to keep clarifying what we mean by God and Universe.

Intermediate explanations are being offered. They include complexity theory, implicate order, synchronicity (as an acausal connecting principle), fractals, and others.

Psychonaut John Lilly has proposed another intermediate explanation—E.C.C.O. Earth Coincidence Control Center. The difference between ECCO and other models for low probability coincidences is its emphasis on the conscious intention of suprahuman intelligence.

In 1974, Lilly’s research using various psychoactive drugs led him to believe in the existence of a certain hierarchical group of cosmic entities, the lowest of which he dubbed Earth Coincidence Control Office (E.C.C.O.). “There exists a Cosmic Coincidence Control Center (CCCC) with a Galactic substation called Galactic Coincidence Control (GCC). Within GCC is the Solar System Control Unit (SSCU), within which is the Earth Coincidence Control Office (ECCO).”

According to Lilly, ECCO is responsible for the long-term coincidences while we are responsible for the short-term coincidences. Those of us studying coincidences are being challenged to figure out how long-term and short-term coincidences are created.

Like each of these other theories, ECCO remains to be tested. The following coincidence story hints at the existence of ECCO.

Adam Trombly had stage 4 cancer. He was visiting John Lilly in 1991. Adam’s daughter, age 13, called during the visit and Adam and his daughter breathed together while recognizing and experiencing love, the great healer. John was in the next room. When Adam rejoined John, John said that ECCO says you will recover. You have too much work to do.

An hour or so later Adam was left alone and the doorbell rang. An Iranian physician introduced himself, saying that during his meditation he was told to come to this house and bring his medical bag. He had never been there before, nor had he been invited. The physician administered intramuscular Ketamine. The cancer went into remission for several years until additionally effective treatment was found.

The full story begins around minute 17:50 in this video.

The primary coincidence involved the Iranian physician showing up with a drug that helped Adam. The physician was told during meditation to come to this house, shortly after John Lilly had said he had heard from ECCO.

Unlike most coincidences, this one implies conscious intention from a source (E.C.C.O.) apparently in touch with both John and the physician.
