Cashews! Nice!

I was living in a sober house, experiencing an enormous amount of synchronicity while also decoding the English language in strange new ways. At the time, I had been diving into the CIA’s Kryptos puzzle, which led me to start representing the alphabet in numerical terms.

One day I noticed my roommate wearing new shoes. At the same time, I was thinking about how strapped for cash I was and how nice it would be to afford something like that. I heard him munching on something, but didn’t think much of it.

About half an hour later, I went into the bathroom. The first thing I saw was an empty bag of cashews—cash shoes. The brand name on the bag? Nice! A Walgreens label, but in my mind it translated to: “Nice job for figuring that out.”

That was only one example. Many other synchronicities happened in that house. Sometimes I could figure out exactly what someone was watching on TV even though I could barely hear it in the background. It felt as if words were flowing into other words, leading me to new connections that somehow coincided with my environment.

Trippy, to say the least.
