Dreams Do Come True

When I was 16, I lived in New York City. I had a dream one night that I met Paul McCartney and he asked me out on a date.

The next day, a friend and I went to Central Park. I told him my dream, and he teased me. Later, we were sitting on a bench. “Here comes Paul McCartney,” said my friend. I thought he was joking, but sure enough, Paul and his new wife Linda sat down on the same bench as we were on.

I was very excited and gushed as I walked over and spoke with them. They were both kind and friendly, and he gave me his autograph.

Later, I realized my dream had come true — except for the date, of course!
