Gift from the Ocean

Jose Suarez
US

My son’s birthday was on August 17, and it was his first time spending his birthday away from me after his mom and I separated last year. They went to stay on the west coast of Florida for the weekend.

Around 3:00 p.m., he texted me saying his mom and her boyfriend and other people in the group were not paying much attention to him, basically ignoring him. It saddened me a lot, and I texted back, “You don’t need their attention that much — angels, spirits, gods and goddesses are guiding and watching after you.”

Honestly, I don’t know why I came up with this mystical answer. Thirty minutes later, he texted back that he felt so ignored and decided to dive in the beach for a few seconds just to escape those thoughts. He opened his eyes underwater to find necklace right in front of him that said, “Happy Birthday.”

I have spent the last seven hours searching the internet just to find a group or forum to share this.
