So excited to find this community! Here are just a few of my coincidence stories…
In the 1970s, my mother lived in Malta where she babysat the daughter of a family friend. Years later when I was in high school in Louisiana, I was friends with a tall, hardy guy who could literally eat you out of house and home. When Grandma (my mom’s mom) passed away, we traveled to Texas for her funeral. When we arrived, my mom was on the phone. She had called the now-grown woman she had babysat in Malta, who had since moved to the U.S., to share the news of Grandma’s passing. While on the phone, the lady told mom that her niece and family were visiting, and the man her niece had married could eat more than anyone she had ever known. Mom said that it sounded like her daughter’s friend from high school. And yes, it was the same dude!
The same grandmother died 4/7/2004. My dad’s mom died 4/7/2010. So both my parents lost their mom and the same day 6 years apart.
My ex-husband and I started dating on 4/7/2000 (rough day for me!). His mom was 21 years and 2 days older than me. His dad was 21 years and 2 days older than him. Our anniversaries were 3 days apart. (Their anniversary ended up being the same day my son was conceived with my 2nd husband.)
I left Natchitoches, Louisiana 7/3/2003. Moved several times after that, including to Nacogdoches, Texas (sister city to Natchitoches) 7/3/2022 — exactly 19 years to the day.
My mom found out through a DNA site that she had a sister she didn’t know about. Right before Covid hit, I was working as a hotel inspector. I was visiting with a desk clerk and a DNA site commercial came on the lobby TV. She commented that her family had recently found a new family member because of it. I said yeah, me too! Turns out the lady that was now my new aunt was also related to the desk clerk!
