The Butterfly I Asked For

Jerome Houde
CA

I shared in a peer support group last week. The village is named St-Guillaume. I described a conversation I had in 2010 with a person who confided in me about his NDE and the appearance of a butterfly.

The next morning, during my walk in a park, I was listening to an interview with Richard Rohr about St. Thérèse of Lisieux. He explained his own spiritually transformative experience while visiting the room where she died of tuberculosis many years before. He opened a window in the room, and a butterfly mysteriously appeared out of nowhere.

The connection startled me.

Still walking, I innocently “asked” the Universe, or perhaps Thérèse, to give me a sign. A few minutes later, a butterfly flew by me.

I was in awe.

I saw no other butterflies in the entire park that day, or since.

At the end of my walk, I saw a lady carrying a bag with the inscription “St-Guillaume Street, Paris.”

I’m in Canada.

I felt a synchronicity.

I looked it up using AI, and it said this was an area where many French spiritual authors had worked and exchanged ideas. One of them was André Frossard, who wrote a book that became my first reading after my own white light experience in 2010.

AI also told me that André Frossard wrote a book on St. Thérèse of Lisieux.

I think I will look it up.

This is one of many stories I have recorded in a diary since 2024.

I’m still amazed.
