The Joke That Answered Itself
My friends and I had joked that maybe I would meet my future partner in a parking lot, perhaps he’d be a truck driver.
The very next day, sitting in my car outside the grocery store, an unpleasant man knocked on my window and started hitting on me. I said I already had someone. “That doesn’t have to be a problem,” he replied, raising his hand and pointing to his wedding ring.
Before I managed to get rid of him, he added, almost like a punchline: he was a truck driver.
