The Miraculous Pie Plate

I’ve been going to estate sales, garage sales, and rummage sales for years, always on the lookout for vintage Pyrex. A few years ago, I arrived very late to a church parking lot sale. Most vendors were already packing up, their tables nearly empty.

I wandered over to one of the last tables still standing. Everything had been boxed up — except for one item. Sitting alone was a rare 1920s Pyrex pie plate, unusually large at 10 inches, and in flawless condition.

I’ve been collecting vintage Pyrex since 2000, and this was the most amazing piece I’d ever come across. It felt like it had been waiting just for me.
