My 11/11 Birthday Weekend—and Room 1111
When my youngest daughter and I went to Boston to visit colleges over my 11/11 birthday weekend, something remarkable happened.
When we checked in, we were given Room 1111. That number has always felt special to me, and seeing it made me smile. But the real surprise came when we opened the door.
There, written in elegant cursive above the bed, was my favorite quote—the very one I had posted on Facebook just before we left:
“Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.”
It felt like the universe was celebrating right along with us.
