Ordered Twin Flame at Starbucks

Sharren Kind

I had decided I was ready for a male friend, so I spoke to the great Spirit with a list of qualities I wanted. Then, in a moment of pure intention (or cosmic ordering at its finest), I walked into Starbucks expecting the Universe to deliver.

Not long after, I overheard an interesting conversation. Something about it felt magnetic. I approached the gentlemen, and they welcomed me into their circle. The leader, Irv, immediately said two things that signaled he had already met some of the criteria on my list.

We struck up a friendship and soon discovered an almost eerie number of parallels. I had never heard of the twin flame phenomenon before, but it became clear we were on the same frequency—just masculine and feminine versions of the same wavelength.

Some of the synchronicities we uncovered—past, present, and future:

  • Extreme kindness with no expectation of reciprocity.
  • Born in the same state.
  • Left-handed.
  • Our appendixes burst at age 8. (Wouldn’t recommend.)
  • Early career: firefighter.
  • Later career: telecom.
  • Spent years learning and teaching outdoor skills to kids.
  • Lived on parallel ridges in Virginia on wooded property.
  • Experienced a “dark night of the soul” transition in the same year.
  • No tattoos, clean living.
  • Favorite house decor includes: a “hear no evil” sculpture, vintage typewriter, globe, abacus, and telescope.
  • Lifelong photographers with SLR cameras.
  • Several homeless friends we regularly help.
  • Senior citizen friends who depend on us for IT help—both of us even had to fix a computer virus for them in the same week.
  • Similar vintage cars, both named Daisy, both with stuffed animal mascots.
  • Always inventing more things than we can ever implement.
  • Highly ethical and spiritual.
  • Traveled the world and make friends wherever we go.
  • Both randomly invented a bunny cartoon character.

And the list keeps growing. The deeper our friendship goes, the more parallels appear.

I had only planned on getting a coffee. The Universe, however, had other ideas.
