The Compass

I was listening to Dr. Bernard Beitman’s podcast during a run. Here are some highlights and coincidences that tickled me during that run…

— I had forgotten my new dog safety whistle. Of course, a dog ran up to me, so I did what worked for my friend. “NO, NO, NO!” I shouted. He didn’t come closer. The owners came out apologized. I was thinking about how the whistle’s frequency is only heard by dogs when I heard the word “frequency” on the podcast.

I saw a heart-shaped leaf at the same moment I heard the word “heart” on the podcast. A moment later, I saw another one.

— I found an old object I didn’t recognize until I got home and looked it up. It’s an old compass with a match container from the 1940s, used in World War II. I had just mentioned the 1940s earlier in the day in a post.

The podcast episode was entitled, “Discover Where Your Synchronicities Are Leading You.” The words are similar to the idea of a compass.

The podcast guest, Aeon Karris, talked about her travels and upcoming trip around the world, using phrases such as “go in two different ways,” “where am I going next?” “where am I supposed to go?” “we’re buried in the past,” “very different directions,” and “navigate the craziness of life.”

The word “navigate” was used five times, “direction” was used three times, “ground” was used seven times, “container” was used four times, “find” was used nine times, and “travel” was used ten times.

Funny that I have run by there many times and today, while listening to this episode, I find an old compass. And to think I almost didn’t go on that run. I’m thankful for the Coincidence Project and Dr. Beitman’s podcast!
