I’m from Germany and was one of three exchange students in a very small U.S. town (population about 2,000) in 1990. The three of us were a guy from Norway, a girl from Sweden, and me.
In 1997, I went on a holiday trip to Denmark.
One day, we went out for lunch and chose a restaurant in a very small town—maybe ten or fifteen houses total—somewhere in the middle of nowhere.
When I went to order, the waiter looked at me. I looked at him. And then we both started laughing really hard.
