One evening, I started reading a book by José Silva called Mind Control. I was immediately fascinated. I’d previously conducted a small mind-control experiment that actually worked, so I already suspected there was something to this stuff. A section on precognitive dreams—dreaming about future events before they happen—especially caught my attention.
That same night, I dreamed about DOTA, and more specifically, about the Phoenix hero. This was odd. I hadn’t played DOTA or watched any related videos in a long time. I’d completely lost interest in it.
The next morning, just after waking up, I opened YouTube and randomly clicked a suggested DOTA video. The very first thing it showed was a player using Phoenix. The player’s nickname was Mind Control—a professional Bulgarian gamer who had won multiple international championships, including the biggest one in DOTA.
I was completely mind-blown and decided to learn more about him, so I watched an interview. In Mind Control, Silva explains that the key elements for attracting specific events are Desire, Belief, and Expectation. The interview made it clear this was exactly the player’s mindset. He believed deeply in himself and simply expected to win.
This was a double sync:
Mind Control — the title of the book and the player’s nickname
Precognitive dreaming — a concept in the book, followed by a real-world echo (dreaming of Phoenix, then immediately seeing it appear)
